THE BRUCE McLAREN STORY

A MAVERICK BLUEPRINT

EPISODE 4: THINKING IN AIR AND LIGHT

To go faster, Bruce looked beyond the track to aviation. He studied how airflow and structure affected speed, recruiting an engineer from the Concorde programme to make his cars go faster.

Ideas were tested in practice. Some worked. Some didn’t. What mattered was the process. Through vision and counterintuitive thinking, he found advantages where others weren’t looking.

“Life is measured in achievements, not years alone.”

Bruce McLaren

BRUCE McLAREN'S LIFE WAS EXTRAORDINARY.

From growing up above his family’s Service Station in Auckland to overcoming a childhood illness, he developed a relentless mindset. He became the youngest Formula 1 Grand Prix winner of his time, proving progress comes from stepping up. More than a driver, he built a racing team grounded in collaboration and shared pursuit.

Bruce died aged 32, but his impact endures - measured not in years, but in what he built and set in motion for McLaren today.
